Third Attempt - September POP Play Group

Two Sundays ago we met a bunch of Nora's friends from school at our monthly outing. For September, we headed back to our favorite park in Plano and had a great time! Nora was very into the playground this time and took off like a wild woman. We had a hard time keeping up with her! She loves to go down slides ... sometimes head first, before Mommy or Daddy are there to catch her! Thank goodness for other nice mommies that like to play catch! We had a run time catching up with everyone and can't wait until our Pumpkin Patch outing in October!

Second Attempt - Labor Day

We had a great time with the Ogle clan over Labor Day weekend at Possum Kingdom Lake. We just love it out there and had a great time as a family! Nora played and played with Will and the twins and might have even toughened up a bit! We all had a great time going out in the boat, swimming, getting some sun, eating and hanging out with the fam. Joe, Christy and Isabella also came down for one day, so it was fun playing with them too!

The craziest part of the weekend? Nora is just fearless around the water. She loved going out in the boat and then insisted upon being thrown into the water over and over again. She saw the twins eating this up and had to do it herself, of course. What fun!

Attempt to Get Caught Up on Blogging...

First late entry - Nora's 15 month stats (this would be from August) ...
Weight 25.12 pounds (85%)
Height 33 inches (>97%)
Head 46.2 cm (55%)

As you can tell, we have a tall, healthy girl. She is just a joy and surprises us with new things everyday. She still isn't saying a lot of words, but she is very busy talking, pointing and listening. We are amazed at how much she really understands!

We love you baby girl!

Note the double purses! That is one funny girl!

Miss Rita, Nora's toddler class teacher at Prince of Peace sent me these cute pictures of our girl this morning. Looks like she is having a great time at school!

Homecoming Week

This past week was homecoming week at Nora's school, Prince of Peace. It was so much fun that they included the ELC in the festivities. Everyday the kiddos got to dress up in their spirit clothes or fun things like mis-match day. Nora was definitely making a style statement on Wednesday with her mis-matched outfit and different shoes! Pretty funny! On Friday, POP had their Homecoming Pep Rally in the afternoon. Of course I had to go and take some pictures. It was so cute, but Nora got really upset when she saw me because she only wanted Mama and then didn't want to participate. So sad! I got some fun pictures anyway, just be sure to note the trauma on Nora's face...

Preparing for the pep rally! I love that Jordan is looking at Nora like, "What's wrong with you?"

Yeah! Having fun at the pep rally holding a heart decoration.

Note the pacie (had to have it to keep her calm ... crazy, but true!)

Fun times! We love POP!

15 Month Photos

Here's a link to Nora's 15 month photos from our wonderful photographer, Jessica Starr. Why 15 month photos you may ask yourself? That would be because I am behind the 8-ball as usual, so we were a few months late! Oh well! These photos are precious of our baby girl and definitely worth the wait!

August Round Up

Where has the summer gone? The endless heat in Dallas has worn us out, but it's still hard to believe that summer is over and it's September! We were a bit remiss in our August postings, so here's a quick round up...

For the first weekend in August we headed to the Starr's house for Barrett's birthday party. I can't believe that he is already 4 years old! We had a great time at the Fish Party, where Nora got to paint her fish cookie with icing. How fun is that? Of course, she figured out pretty quickly that she could eat the paint. Smart girl! After a long nap for Nora and me, Mark got back from golfing and we headed to the Team's house for a fun fish dinner. Yum! We ate fish that Jeff has caught off the Texas coast. Nora had a great time playing with Cole and had her first official bath with a boy (other than Daddy)! Too cute and super funny. Em sent me these great pictures. Love it!

That same week we have two really fun play dates. We went to the Galleria and watched a puppet show at Slappy's Playhouse and then had lunch with the Braatens and the Lockes. Later that week we headed for our fun Friday play date with our usual crew. Fun times were had by everyone, especially the mommas! I've decided that Lori is the ultimate play date hostess!

Nora had a fun play date with her Prince of Peace friends, Jordan and Teagan, at the Palaestra. Not only did the girls have a blast running around, playing with balls, jumping on the trampolines, and playing on the gym equipment, but the moms did too! It's pretty fun to act like a kiddo again with my sweet little girl. Nora and I had such a great time, that Mark took her back to play a few weekends later with Jordan's daddy and Loden's parents. They had a blast too! That kind of fun playing wore Miss Nora out! She took long naps each day that she went and we were able to get lots done around the house! Following the second play date at the Palaestra, we headed to Jordan's house to have dinner with her family. How great is it that we have girls the same age, at the same school, go to the same church and live in the same neighborhood? Guess we were just meant to be friends with the Wheelis clan! We had a fun fajita dinner and playtime with the girly girls. I'm going to steal a picture off their blog to post. Thanks Mark and Gayla for a fun night!

KidneyTexas took a lot of my time this month, but the event was a huge success and I was happy to volunteer for the first time. I also met some great girls on the committee, so hopefully I can fit it into my schedule next year. Lisa and I want to get the three girls to model in the fashion show next year. We'll see how that goes! Will did a great job modeling this year. He was quite serious. He later told Bill and Lisa that he was acting like the models did. How funny is that?!?

One weekend our super great Sunday School class hosted a pool party at one of the local pools. Nora loved it! She did not want to leave the kids pool and the fun water slide. She is absolutely fearless and went down that slide a ton of times. We took her back the last weekend in August and she took off for the water slide once again. Wish I had a picture of her on it. Super cute!

For a fun girls night out Emily, Lori and I headed to The Foundation Room at the House of Blues. We had the best time ... eating, drinking yummy wine, talking and laughing! I bet our husbands were wondering if we were ever coming home. Thank goodness we are all blessed with super guys!

We (actually, I should say that I) finished off the last day of the month with dinner and wine with some friends from Junior League. What a fun, fun night!

I am sure that I missed a bunch of fun stuff in between. It's been a fun-filled summer for the Newman family.
